Job Summary:

Under the guidance of the Director of Nursing; the Clinical Training Specialist, serves as a liaison throughout the organization with regards to clinical support of licensed and non-licensed personnel who provide clinical support services at Community Health Centers. Assist with onboarding and training of all new and existing clinical support staff and students.


Primary Responsibilities and Specific Duties:

Training Duties:

  • Collaborates with Center Leadership to provide onboarding and training to new and existing clinical support staff and students.
  • Formalizes and assists in facilitating successful completion of Clinical onboarding and follow up.
  • Facilitates with Foundations, In-services, One on One sessions and Refresher trainings for Clinical Support Staff.
  • Assists with completion of clinical checklist, clinical and lab competencies as indicated.
  • Assists in training clinical support staff on the basic use of eCW and eCW workflows.
  • Creates and assists with the development and maintenance of training documents for Clinical Support Staff.
  • Participates in cross training activities
  • Participates in obtaining, training, and conclusion of Florida Hospital Access, Florida Shots, and Florida newborn screens for clinical support staff.
  • Participates as a superuser of ECW
  • Engages in the review of release notes prior to execution to ensure training and support are secure
  • Routinely performs patient time studies of clinical support staff
  • Regularly evaluates clinical competency procedure, clinical competency, and checklist for potential advancement in utilization
  • Will maintain overall lab competency
  • Completes a minimum of 10 chart audits of clinical support staff prior to 90-day onboarding.
  • Will routinely assess CSS on the floor for clinical skillset and documentation are standardized with organizational policy, procedure, or workflow.

Additional Duties:

  • Assists with Clinical walk through's/Mock Inspections at the centers.
  • Participate in Vaccine for Children and Vaccine for Adults audits at the centers
  • May assists in the review of applications and resumes and in the interview process of clinical support staff applicants.
  • Create and execute reports from Florida Shots
  • Performs weekly correction for compliance of successful and failed vaccine exports
  • Actively communicates with Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing regarding all Clinical Support Staff issues including any proposed policy or procedural changes.
  • Attends committee meetings as indicated to include the monthly release notes.
  • Provides coverage at the centers, on the floor, or in eCW as needed or indicated
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Completion of Licensed Practical Nursing program from an accredited school of nursing.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years' experience in the healthcare setting

Certification/Licensure:

  • Current/valid Florida LPN license
  • Current/valid BLS, or must be obtained within the first 30-days of employment
  • Must maintain a valid Florida Driver's license

Special Skills:

  • Bilingual capability helpful
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be flexible and able to manage multiple priorities

Computer Skills:

  • E-mail, Internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Other requirements:

  • Able to work flexible hours as needed
  • Requires travel to all CHC Centers
