Job Summary:

The Network Systems Administrator position focuses on network installation, modification, repair, and maintenance along with other related information services applications and telecommunications infrastructure. The incumbent provides technical support and guidance to network and telecommunications users, IS Leadership, and contract personnel. Evaluates the needs of network and telecommunications users, and translates them into requirements, identifies requirements and performs the actions required to provide needed services, relates users' requirements to existing technology, policies and priorities, systems capabilities, equipment requirements, costs, and funding, to provide optimum support. Works collaboratively with the IS team.

Primary Responsibilities and Specific Duties:

  • Responsible for technical and analytical work pertaining to the planning, development, acquisition, testing, integration, installation, utilization, or modification of network and telecommunications systems, facilities, services, and procedures, planning, implementation of network and telecommunications programs, systems, and services.

  • Installing, operating, planning, and administering telecommunication systems, network, and related equipment.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of existing voice and data communications, analyzing/testing a variety of established techniques/methods to evaluate alternatives and arrive at decisions, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Researching trends/pattern and investigating/analyzing a variety of telecommunications problems, questions, or conditions.
  • Performs help desk functions as required by incident reports or service trouble-call requests regarding CHC's telecommunications platform including Avaya phone system, Avaya Call Center operations, Team webinars and Teams video conferencing, cellular devices, pots lines, VoIP telephones, video telephones and facsimile gateways.
  • Executes on network and telecommunications related IS requests including detailed knowledge of installation plan, communication, and coordination with contract vendors on timelines and deliverables, point person for telecom vendor needs related to projects and services and on-site support for all telecom related service being provided at CHC.
  • Assists Leadership with the preparation of RFP's and quotes for contracting of Telecom services.
  • Serves as technical expert and customer service representative for all telecommunications issues.
  • Develops reports and updates to submit to IS Leadership.
  • Designs, creates, and distributes operational troubleshooting guides related to software and hardware used at CHC.
  • Documents network configurations and processes, updating them on a yearly basis or as needed.
  • Works closely with Networking Specialist to facilitate projects, project goals and meet project timelines.
  • Provides supervision, training, and evaluation of direct reports including responsibilities for coaching sessions, performance evaluations, developing training schedules, interviewing, and hiring new team members, and facilitating professional development.
  • Ensure IS processes and procedures are followed by direct reports.
  • Works closely with leadership to develop network and paging diagrams for new buildings. Works with chosen vendor to ensure proper execution of the network and paging diagrams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Networking or Phone Platform Certification required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience:

  • Four years direct experience within a business environment and information systems
  • Experience with Windows enterprise environments required
  • Experience with Linux environments preferred
  • Experience with MS office suite, Remote Administration Suites, anti-virus programs, and terminal emulation software required
  • Minimum of 5 years working in the IT field required.
  • Experience with Wireshark, Solarwinds or other network monitoring and troubleshooting software preferred
  • Experience with Extreme, Brocade, Ubiquity, MikroTik preferred
  • Experience with Avaya preferred.
  • Experience with Wireless Access points systems such as Ruckus or Meraki preferred.

Certification:

  • MTCNA (MikroTik Certified Network Associate) or MTCRE (MikroTik Certified Routing Engineer) or CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or CCNP (Cisco Certified Networking professional) preferred.

Special Skills:

  • Experience in evaluating, analyzing, developing, or improving network and communications systems, procedures, and requirements
  • Knowledge of general network and telecommunications administration
  • Knowledge of network and telecommunications installation, modification, repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of network and telecommunications programs maintenance and support
  • Ability to work with and understand technical information related to telecommunications
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and executing telecommunication systems and networks
  • Ability to organize, present and communicate technical concepts and issues orally and in writing
  • Must have working knowledge of basic network architecture, topology, and usage
  • Workstation knowledge must include hardware configuration, software installation and usage, and network security
  • Able to work flexible hours and travel throughout CHC locations
  • Current Florida Driver's License required
