Job Summary:

Responsible for coordinating the obstetrics department by making sure that all of the steps necessary for the process of all prenatal care and post pardon care and follow up are functional and ongoing.

Primary Responsibilities and Specific Duties:

  • Participates in patient care coordination, pre-visit planning, huddles, one-on-one communication, email, patient contact, and documentation of any services accessed and/or health care related concerns/needs that have arisen since last visit.
  • Participate in team meetings to communicate and address patient care and operational requirements.
  • OB preliminary intake
  • Take patient's OB history.
  • Do HIV pre-counseling.
  • Develop statistics on utilization of services and numbers of high-risk cases and other relevant information.
  • Track all compliant and non-compliant and high-risk OB patients.
    • Create Actions for each OB patient
  • Collect and enter data for the UDS prenatal report.
  • Healthy start prenatal risk screening
  • Ensures screenings are completed on every patient.
  • Ensures information is forwarded to Orange County Healthy Start
  • Other duties

OB floor nurse as required.

Collects data and prepares reports as indicated or requested

Ensures OB charts are made available for delivery to the hospital in a timely manner.

Sonogram referral case management.

GYN Surgical Scheduling

C-section and induction scheduling

  • Coordinate and Follow up on OB-High Risk patient visits with MFM
  • Conduct quality of care audits as required.
  • Public Health reporting of communicable disease as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of accredited Licensed Practical Nursing course required; some business courses helpful.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of OB patient care, and some experience as a team leader.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Must possess and maintain current/valid Florida LPN license, and HIV update.
  • Current/valid BLS certification, or must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.

Special Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Leadership in multidisciplinary groups and management of multiple simultaneous projects.

Other Requirements:

  • Able to work flexible hours as needed.
