Job Summary:

Responsible Vaccine Program Management, Float Pool, VFC/VFA Ordering, Monitors Staffing Ratios, Inventory Handling, Electronic Health Record (EHR) Access and Training, Employee fitness, Community Advocacy Program Participant, Point person for student and practicum programs, general Provider support, coordinating and monitoring activities of the clinical care team regionally and other duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities and Specific Duties:

  • In conjunction with the Corporate Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing will participate with clinical overview to include assessment of clinical skills that employees will be expected to perform on a routine basis.
  • Assists in performing clinical competency to evaluate expectations or deficiencies in clinical performance and provide support as indicated.
  • Manages the vaccine programs to include Vaccine for Children, Vaccine for Adults, and Florida Shots Program and will ensure that all guidelines and regulations are implemented and enforced.
  • Vaccine ordering, documented completion of administration, and running reports as indicated
  • Monitors and maintains eCW immunizations, expirations, and tracking tools.
  • Assists with clinical chart and quality control log auditing.
  • Assists the Nursing Department with consulting with providers regarding issues involving the practice of nursing or clinical staff.
  • Keeps the Nursing Department informed of all nursing and clinical support issues including any proposed policy or procedural changes.
  • Assists with the development and review of the monthly check list, weekly reports, and the clinical manual.
  • Administers Employee fitness as indicated.
  • Continuous management of the care team's staff schedule
  • Conducts Annual Flu Vaccine program

  • Participates and assists in the Risk/Safety/Infection Control Committee and rounding.
  • Attends all training and in-service meetings as required.
  • Maintains, responds, and utilizes working relationships with and knowledge of referral sources, community resources, and collaboratively works with other departments.
  • Participates and organizes with the Nursing Department the orientation of other nurses, clinical support staff, and Clinical students.
  • Participates in AAAHC, HRSA, and Federal Grant requirements that involve clinical staff.
  • Manages the Clinical Float pool.
  • Provides staffing coordination and coverage for the centers.
  • May assist with the review and investigation of patient complaints related to clinical operations and related patient satisfaction issues.
  • Ensures structured communication to center care team members and providers, related to patient care coordination, pre-visit planning, huddles, one-on-one communication, emails, patient contact and documentation of any services accessed and/or health care related concerns/needs that have arisen since last visit.
  • May provide oversight in project management:
  • Assign, prioritize, and supervise project tasks throughout all project phases.
  • Ensure that all team members have the required information and resources to carry out their tasks effectively, monitor and track the team's progress. (Pre, during and post implementation of project), and manage communication with external and internal stakeholders (regional team members, multi-disciplinary project team members, leaders, etc.).
  • Required to be familiar with navigating daily tasks and workflow within an electronic health record which includes creating and updating electronic documentation using electronic tools and applications on portable computing devices, results review, order entry and clinical decision support.
  • Individuals will Assists in organizing the work of a provider to take full advantage of the features of health IT in pursuit of meaningful use. This includes communicating health/medical information using standard definitions, vocabularies, terminologies and/or relevant data sets as used in the organization's health information systems.
  • Required to cross train and function within all medical disciplines (such as Family, Pediatrics, and OB/GYN).
  • Required to travel to all CHC locations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of accredited Licensed Practical Nursing or Registered Nursing program required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a licensed LPN or RN in management of Health Care, physician practice, or clinic setting preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail, and possess a good working knowledge of electronic medical records

Certification/Licensure:

  • Must possess and maintain current/valid Florida LPN license or RN license.
  • Current/valid BLS certification, or must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.

Special Skills:

  • Ability to deal with patients effectively in upsetting situations; able to function professionally in emergency situations.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Able to work flexible hours and sites as needed.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends.
