Job
Summary:
The
Human Resources Generalist provides comprehensive Human Resources support with
a primary focus on the day-to-day administration of team member benefits and
leave programs. This position serves as a resource to team members regarding
benefits, leave, retirement programs, HR policies, and works closely with the
Benefits Manager and HR leadership to ensure responsive and effective HR
services.
Additional responsibilities include HR operations and HRIS
administration, new hire orientation presentations, team member relations, HR
reporting and analytics, project coordination, performance management support,
and other HR programs and initiatives.
Primary Duties:
Benefits
and Leave Administration
· Supports the day-to-day
administration of CHC benefit programs and responds to team member questions
regarding benefits, enrollment, eligibility, qualifying life events, and
available resources.
· Supports FMLA and other
leave programs and closely monitors leaves administered by third-party vendors,
including leave status and usage, required documentation, return-to-work
activities, and follow-up with team members and leaders.
· Coordinates Short-Term
and Long-Term Disability processes, including communication with team members
and applicable vendors, and verification of eligibility.
· Processes monthly
benefit billing and reconciliations, researches discrepancies, and coordinates
corrections with vendors.
· Participates in annual
Benefits Open Enrollment and New Hire Enrollment, including communications,
education, and enrollment support.
· Supports retirement
plan administration, including team member questions, communications,
enrollment, reporting, and coordination with appropriate resources.
· Monitors benefit
premiums and other amounts owed during leaves of absence and coordinates
collection and reconciliation as appropriate.
· Supports ADA
accommodation and interactive process activities as assigned and maintains
appropriate documentation and tracking.
· Assists with Workers'
Compensation administration and return-to-work coordination in partnership with
the appropriate departments.
· Supports benefit
communications, wellness initiatives, and the CHC Team Member Discount program.
HR Operations and HRIS
· Maintains team member
records in the HRIS, including I-9 management, document accuracy, required
audits, and records retention activities.
· Processes HRIS and
badging system requests and maintains accurate documentation in HR systems.
· Coordinates exit
interviews, employment verifications, termination processing, and unemployment
activities.
· Prepares HRIS reports
and supports performance evaluation tracking, reporting, and follow-up.
· Assists with
facilitating the Human Resources portion of New Hire Orientation, including
benefit education and information regarding HR programs, policies, and
resources.
Team Member Relations
· Supports HR leadership
with corrective action and team member relations matters and assists with
workplace investigations as assigned.
· Maintains accurate and
confidential team member relations documentation, case information, and related
tracking.
HR Analytics, Projects, and Process Improvement
· Generates and analyzes
recurring and ad hoc HR reports, including turnover, retention, headcount, new
hires, terminations, benefit participation, leave activity, and other workforce
measures.
· Reviews HR data and
trends to identify opportunities, risks, and areas requiring additional
leadership attention.
· Coordinates assigned HR
projects and initiatives, including project plans, timelines, milestones,
deliverables, status updates, and stakeholder follow-up.
· Reviews HR processes
and workflows and recommends opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy,
compliance, and the team member experience.
· Ensures the accuracy
and integrity of HR data used for reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
General HR Support
· Assists with
developing, reviewing, updating HR policies, procedures, and the Team Member
Handbook.
· Supports team member
engagement, recognition, retention, and other HR initiatives.
· Maintains knowledge of
HR practices, employment law developments, benefit and leave requirements, and
workforce trends.
· Maintains
confidentiality of team member and organizational information and demonstrates
sound judgment when handling sensitive matters.
· Performs other related
duties and special projects as required and assigned.
Qualifications
Education
· Bachelor's degree in
Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required;
alternatively, four (4) years of relevant professional experience in benefits,
employee relations, human resources, or a related area will be considered.
Experience
·
Minimum
of four (4) years of Human Resources experience required.
·
Experience
supporting benefit administration, leave programs, and team member benefit
questions required.
·
Experience
with HRIS administration, HR reporting, and data management preferred.
·
Experience
supporting team member relations and HR projects preferred.
·
Healthcare
experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure
· PHR, SHRM-CP, or other
Human Resources or benefits-related certification preferred.
Additional Requirements
·
Ability
to work flexible hours as needed.
· Ability to travel to CHC locations as needed.
