Job Summary:

The Information Technology (IT) Operations Specialist is responsible for providing service desk operations, technical support, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management for endpoint devices, software applications, and related technologies throughout Community Health Centers, Inc. (CHC).

This role supports clinical, operational, and administrative staff across multiple locations and serves as a frontline technical resource for incident response, request fulfillment, break/fix support, project implementations, endpoint security, Microsoft 365 technologies, telecommunications, and IT operational support services. The position functions as both a service desk and field support role.

Primary Responsibilities and Specific Duties:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for Information Services support requests and service desk operations.
  • Answer, triage, prioritize, and resolve technical incidents and service requests in accordance with departmental service level expectations.
  • Perform break/fix troubleshooting and resolution for endpoint hardware, software, connectivity, and user access issues.
  • Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, peripherals, and related endpoint technologies.
  • Provide technical support for Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Office applications.
  • Support user account administration, password resets, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and identity-related requests.
  • Assist with maintaining endpoint security standards and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Support endpoint protection platforms, vulnerability remediation efforts, patching activities, and device compliance initiatives.
  • Escalate suspected cybersecurity incidents, phishing attempts, malware infections, or suspicious activity in accordance with CHC procedures.
  • Assist with support and troubleshooting of network-connected devices including workstations, printers, wireless devices, VoIP equipment, and VPN connectivity.
  • Support organizational technology projects including workstation deployments, office moves, hardware refreshes, software rollouts, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Coordinate and communicate with end users regarding ticket status, resolution timelines, and operational impacts.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to Infrastructure, Systems Administration, Cybersecurity, or vendor support teams as appropriate.
  • Accurately document incidents, requests, resolutions, and technical changes within the IT service management platform.
  • Maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and configuration records.
  • Maintains compliance with safety, OSHA, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in cross-training and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Provides onsite technical support across CHC facilities and operational locations.
  • Participates in after-hours support, maintenance activities, emergency response efforts, and on-call rotations as required.
  • Supports operational continuity initiatives during outages, system issues, and organizational emergencies.
  • Maintains professionalism and responsiveness while supporting clinical and business operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree, technical school training, industry certifications, or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience:  

  • One to two years direct experience within a business environment.
  • Minimum six months work experience with up-to-date information systems.
  • Experience with Windows server environment.
  • Experience with LINUX environments a plus.
  • Experience with MS office suite, Remote administration suites, various anti-virus programs, and terminal emulation software.
  • At least six months working in the IT field required.

Preferred Certifications:               

  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
  • Must be able to obtain certification within 12 months of employment.

Other requirements:            

  • Ability to work flexible schedules when operationally necessary.
  • Valid Florida Driver License required.
  • CHC-provided vehicles are available for travel between organizational locations and support sites.
